Introduction of Epilogue by Wendy and Amy—no prose this week—just some reflection and a few bloops. They also share some specifics on their favorite prosecco: Kirkland Signature Asolo Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Here is a link to a great blog.  The hosts revisit how they came up with the name Prosecco N Prose. Wendy considers the experience uncouth. Their inspiration was the Knock Knock Bathroom Guest Book by Jen Bilik.

Wendy surprises Amy with one of the old teaching games she used in the classroom. Amy uses several delay tactics as she feels she is not good with “up-your-sleeve” or “off-the-cuff” activities.  Some of those delay tactics include naming the prop and filling in empty spaces on that prop with extra game opportunities. Wendy was initially irritated but later was impressed as it gave her more opportunities to drink prosecco. Both hosts were able to share some memorable moments or inciting information on each of the novels or short stories. The list of the past prose is as follows:

  • “The Bog Girl” by Karen Russell
  • “Speech Sounds” by Octavia E. Butler and “Pandemic” by Jesse F. Bone
  • The Dutch House by Ann Patchett
  • “Letter of Apology” by Maria Reva
  • Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
  • “Zero Meter Diving Team” by Jim Shepard
  • Walking With Strangers by Kaitlyn Keller
  • “The Plagiarist” by Greg Johnson
  • Follow Me by Kathleen Barber
  • Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
  • When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger (Bonus Episode for meeting and exceeding listener goals)

Each short story can be found free online or in the links in each individual episode’s notes/transcripts.

Amy, in what might seem like retaliation of the game, shared with Wendy some of the entertaining gaffs and bloopers of the season: mispronunciations, miscommunications, a crashing yoga mat, angry intro voice remix, wasting tape, smoking sage, drinking, coughing, and burping, and unladylike behavior.

The hosts close up Season 1 with smudging their studio with “HERBS” from Amy’s rooftop garden. They premade a smudge stick with dried basil, rosemary, lavender, and mint and then lit/smoked out their 115 sqft studio. Can you believe they didn’t burn down the house?

The hosts asked listeners to subscribe, star-rate, and review their show wherever listeners hear the podcast. By subscribing, listeners will be notified when Season 2’s Prologue and first episode drop.

Thank you for your faithful listenership and all your helpful feedback. Wendy and Amy will be back in mid-November with some new prose and even more fun banter. Visit them on their social media sites between the break.

And in the meantime, Pop a Cork and Read!
