Short Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald

Wendy & Amy Season 5 Episode 41

Send us a text

Wendy and Amy take on two short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald, "Babes in the Woods" and "Crazy Sunday." They also try a classic prosecco happy hour drink in jello shot form, the Aperol Spritzer Jello Shot. They discuss first lines, the power they have, or don't have, to pull the reader in, and endings that leave a reader satisfied; elements that are unique to Fitzgerald and some common themes. Pop a cork to a crazy, fun time!

This Week's Recipe: Aperol Spritzer Jello Shots

Yields: 10 Jello shots

1 ½  cups Prosecco
½  cup Aperol
2 packages unflavored gelatin
½ cup San Pellegrino lemonade
Lemon peel  and mint for garnish

In a saucepan, combine the gelatin and the Prosecco; whisk until the gelatin has dissolved. Stir in the Aperol and lemonade until blended. Carefully pour mixture into shot glasses or dessert cups. Refrigerate until set (around 4 hours). Garnish with lemon rind and mint, if desired. Note from the link below how to sweeten these jello shots up a bit. We love Aperol Spritz, but couldn't get over the texture. This website has lots of fun recipes.
